In the last couple of years, researcher Dr. Çizmeli discovered that to perform his work as a Data Scientist, he saw that available software tools were outdated and it was difficult to share projects and assure reproducibility of his work. That’s why he developed the idea of a modern multi-tenant, web-based data science platform. The platform, melda.io, is designed as a set of microservices that scales rapidly in the cloud. During the development, him and his team faced multiple layers of technical and non-technical challenges involving microservice abstraction, containerization, data management, workload orchestration, privacy, usability, discoverability, finances and customer targeting. In this meetup they will share with the audience our story which started in Bodrum, Turkey, followed by an open discussion on cloud app development.

Dr. Servet Ahmet Çizmeli

Dr. Çizmeli is an environmental scientist and activist. He is co-founder and chief science officer of melda.io, a cloud-based data science platform.

Cihad Tekin

Cihad is the lead developer of melda.io. He is also a graduate student in Ege University on nuclear physics.
