The world of Data Science is moving more and more to online collaboration where Data Scientists work from different locations in different timezones. Crucial in this way of working is that they can have access simultaneously to projects which contain data, models and advises for solving a specific business problem. It is not only sharing but also assuring that multiple teams can work on their own projects without interfering with others.

The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the need for collaboration independent from where you are located. Examples in this combat against COVID-19 are online working together between laboratories around the world that are collecting data and specialists that work isolated from home.

When we, as PranaGEO, started to work on developing melda.io our goal was to create a Data Science platform which was location and timezone independent. Our second goal was to assure that Data Science activities could be reproduced easily and simultaneously by multiple Data Science teams. Thanks to the cloud, we are able to make it easy for one team to obtain and run a model developed by another team with exactly the same input data and model parameters. After a successful reproducibility, the downstream team will be able to modify model parameters and start building on top of the original project.

Currently we have a version available of melda.io where data analysis can be performed with R and Python, where data or can be stored or can be collected from the trusted external sources, and where output can be easily shared with others inside your team or with external parties.

You can try melda.io for free or contact us so we can support you with setup collaboration facilities for your data science team. We wish you a safe way of collaboration.
